Hi there,
I’m Tim’s brother John, and also his Godfather which was a “gift” from my parents for being a help with all 5 of my little brothers and I gladly accepted the role. In 1962 in NY, I could not go into the maternity ward that messed with the “buddy system” my mother instigated prior to his birth, which made me his life-long responsibility, yeah right! My mom battled the hospital but they wouldn’t relent but I was always there for him. I taught him how to swim, ride a bike and above all to be a wisecracking outgoing witty guy that he was. I was out of the house by the time he reached 7 and returned for a stint 4 years later, I called him Buck, I gave all my little brothers nicknames, and I loved him immensely, and though we grew apart, we were just starting to reconnect because his divorce was finalized and he loved my sons like they were his own.
Tim did standup, was in a band and had way more guts than me and was inspiring me with my drumming. I dreamed of him helping me with confidence to play on stage but it never happened. I play my drums everyday and think of him each time.
I just wanted you to know that Tim passed on February 19, 2022. I am so appreciative of seeing his interview still in presence here. Thank you so much!
